Heres one I prepared earlier...



From the last post, this hole has now been prepared to take the concrete slab. A steel cage is formed, in this case from 12mm steel bars, bent, and tied together to form this 300mm thick 'cage'. The red discs are 'spacers' to keep the bars away from the edges, and the larger photo, you should be able to see the cement blocks that are tied to the bars to keep the bottom of the cage off the surface. The blue material is a 1400gauge thickness damp proof membrane. The lift pit is now ready to recieve the concrete.
