Dust to Dust
Within only a few days the Tower block has been reduced from a nine storey concrete frame to a pile of rubble.
I'd imagine that this building probably took about nine months to a year to construct, and I'm working with one of the people who's first job was to oversee the construction of this estate.
This demolition program seems to have become a little more complicated than at first. Not only has there been an accident with the machinery, a number of hold ups that delayed the start of demolition, tenants who refused to leave, and finally squatters.
Now there seems to be trouble with asbestos. This building is completely enclosed with plastic, and a series of port-a-cabins have been set up to decontaminated the workers. The asbestos should be removed from site and disposed of by an appropriate contractor.
