My type of day

There has been a trend recently in London to tear down the old blocks of flats that they built in the 1960's and 70's. This is one of the lst remaining tower blocks on the North Peckham Estate. It's been entertaining watching as this block has come down over the last few months, firstly they stripped away the external cladding, then the cruncher comes in.

Last month, a shorter cruncher, which was precariously balanced on top of a four storey mound of rubble, tipped over and fell, with the driver safely strapped within his cockpit, it landed about two meters from some of the new house.

This larger crane was brought in last week to carry on the work. There are two more nine storey blocks yet to be demolished, further pictures to follow.
