The Art and the Artist
The Royal College of Art (http://www.rca.ac.uk/) run a charity auction every year, where they ask artists to submit a postcard sized piece of art anonymously, which on sale days, you might be picking up a Tracy Emin, a Damien Hirst or now a Dominic O'Rourke! Last month I received an application pack and submitted my three pieces, a photo montage, a ink wash drawing and my autobiography - all neatly on a 5x7 inch card!
I attended the Artist party on Saturday night, rubbing shoulders with the great and the beautiful, there was some fantastic pieces there, many media, and some good fun pieces too.
It made me feel really proud of myself, to have all my pieces accepted, and the thought that someone out there is wanting to buy my pieces is tantalizing (Mr Satchai, call me anytime!)
