Handy around the kitchen

Here's my girlfriends recently redecorated kitchen, we had an argument over how to do the job, so she threw me out and hired a professional! Not that I took it personally, but after sulking for a week I finally went around to admire their handiwork, and it's fantastic. New light fittings, new shelves, a new lick of paint on the walls and the cupboards, and Sally's deft touches of Cath Kidson tins, glass jars full of pasta, and the better use of existing storage, and it's a pleasure to work in - you see, I'm the cook in this relationship, and I'm the one who has to use the kitchen - ok so I don't have to live there, but I have to produce miracle meals with only two saucepans!

I should stick to looking down holes!

It looks lovely but I'm sure you would've done a nice job as well.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Lyman! It would have taken me a month, rather than a week!

She was damn right to kick you out! You might know your way around plans but you're bloody useless with a hammer in your hand! Oh wait.. er.. I mean of course you can come over to Cork to help out with DIY anytime you like! You're a great help with a roller!

Actually Stokie's been helping me with my living room recently. Well .. I say help.. What I mean is he's been in the bedroom surfing the internet (I don't know what for but safari's always been reset when I come back to it which means I have to type all my information in again into my websites .. but that's another rambling thought) while I'm in the living room. To be fair if I need someone to hold a piece of timber while I'm cutting it he'll break away for long enough to hold it!

Hey this is a public forum isn't it! Hello world! I'm a mate of dominic's from way back! Hey Dom, this blog stuffs addictive. Think I might start one of my own. Love to you all,

Dekko.

(P.S. I really do like the kitchen. I even like the colour - I'm going through my blue period at the moment!)
